Lone star Jr-3 Predators 2026

This Series utilizes the sealed stock engine rules Package, this rule set unifies Texoma speedway and all Lone star caged predator series races under the same rule set General


Rules:

1. Drivers aged 11 to 15

2. Weight: 300LBS

3. All steel kart frame with cage and body - All Karts must be presentable and safe (proper 5 point seat belts, proper Aluminum seat, safety equipment), anything deemed by officials to be unsafe or out of line with the spirit of the class will not be allowed to race

4. All karts must have their kart number large on the right side of kart either on Sail panel or Hood 4. Axle- May not protrude past the outside edge of wheels

5. Body- Can be fiberglass, carbon fiber, aluminum, Automotive plastic, No other materials can be used.

6. Brakes- must be in working condition and driver must be able to fully engage brake pedal.

7. Frame-must be caged kart, cage must be constructed of steel.

8. Kill Switch- must be operable and fully disable engine.

9. Nerf Bars-may not extend more than 3” outside edge of wheels.

10. Numbers-Must be legible on both sides of kart, Kart must have a large number on the right side of the car either on the sail panel or hood.

11. Seat- must be properly secured and maintain drivers position when racing.

12. Wheels- must not exceed 6” in diameter and can be steel or aluminum.

13. Weights- Must be painted white and display kart number, must be properly bolted within the frame rails.

14.  Mufflers- Must run a muffler, any type (RVL style suggested).

15. No Wings.

16.  Any Tires, no prepping between races (grinding) / no tire dope allowed ever / General washing with water and Simple Green ok.


Engine Rules:

1. Stock Harbor Freight Predator 212cc engine only (Hemi or Non-Hemi head okay).

2. Pump Gasoline only 91 octane or less. (no fuel additives of any kind allowed, no racing gas) (Fuel Stop location may be used for select events).

3. Must have a chain guard.

4. Drum clutch only.

5. The stock engine governor must remain inside the engine but can be bypassed. Oil sensor may be disconnected.

6. Top plate, fuel pump, throttle linkage device are allowed.

7. Any header and muffler allowed must not be a safety issue. (RVL style suggested).

8. Can re-jet stock carburetor, no other modification allowed, must run stock plastic insulator and must be un-altered.

9. Stock air box and filter only, air box must match the model of engine (hemi/Non-hemi), air box and filter must remain stock and unaltered.

10. Valve cover can be removed to tap fitting for fuel pump.

11. Valve Train must be stock, unaltered,10.8lbs valve springs (springs must match engine model), no shimming of springs, no ratio rockers, no Alum. Pushrods.

12. Blower cover and pull rope starter must remain stock and in working order.

13. The stock flywheel must be replaced with an ARC-6696(Hemi) or ARC-6695(Non-Hemi) or PVL cast aluminum flywheel for safety reasons. No slotted flywheels, minimum weight is 3.4lbs.

14. Rod/crank/piston must be stock OEM for which ever predator model you are running (hemi or non-hemi).

15. Cylinder head must be stock OEM, NO HEAD swapping (non-hemi head on Hemi lower or vice versa) , No porting or polishing allowed, no other head work allowed 16.Head Gasket must be correct gasket for the model you are running (hemi 0.45”/non-hemi 0.010”) 17. Coil must be stock ignition coil with the hard plastic boot, No after market plug wire or coil allowed.

18. Spark plug- any plug is allowed.


No other modifications outside or inside the engine are allowed.


All items in the General/Engine rule Sections are Subject to Tech inspection.


If you are caught cheating: you will lose points and prizes for that night and be suspended from the series for 2 races and any other suspensions imposed by the hosting track / Serious Offenses will be subject to season points loss and season suspension.


Notice:

Predator engines must be brought to track in a sealed box to be sealed by Mike Engstrom or Tom Honkomp or Keith Smith in front of the purchaser. The cost to seal an engine is $20.00.

Seals: will be run through side cam covers, and head fins to engine block. Seals are numbered and will be matched to that engine serial number. Seals must be intact and unaltered. If the seal is broken or looks damaged or tampered with, the engine will be deemed illegal and will need to be re-sealed. NO IF ANDS OR BUTS!!!!


Your Engine must be included on the Engine database to be considered sealed and legal to run. If engine info is not on list, engine will be deemed illegal and DQ will result. MUST have seals and engines and be on list to run in a Lone Star Caged predators series event!!!


Engine Protest:

Engine protest may be done by any finishing driver of the night's A-main event or at the discretion of the Lone Star caged predator series officials. (protest form must be filled out) written protest and $120 fee must be given to series official(Challenge tour events)/track official (regional events) within 10 minutes after the completion of the A-main event. -If engine is found to be legal $100.00 of the protest money will be forfeited to the protested party and $20.00 will be retained by tech official to cover cost of resealing engine.

If engine is found to be illegal $100.00 will go to the protesting party and $20.00 will go to official performing inspection.

Protest denial: -First Denial: denial results in a 2 series race suspension (challenge tour) and or a 2 race suspension in regional competition (regional series) , loss of points for night plus 100 points docked from season championship (can be applied to both challenge tour and regional championship points within the region of the offense) as well as engine seals/serial number being cancelled/banned.

Second Denial: Loss of season points, suspension for the rest of the season (applies to challenge tour and regional competition) as well as engine seals/serial number being cancelled/banned Lone star caged Predator series.


Competition Rules:

Driver/Kart/Engine changes -Series official(challenge tour) or Track official(regional) must be notified if an engine change/driver change/kart change is to be made prior to change occurring. -Failure to notify series official prior to making change can result in DQ.


Points:

Points are earned thru heat race / B main and A main competition - There must be a minimum of 5 karts registered for the night for full points to be earned - Field of 4 cars (registered for the night), all competitors will earn reduced points for feature - 3 kart minimum for race to be a points paying event, - all 3 karts must take at least one race green flag to satisfy 3 kart field rule - Points rules apply to both challenge series and regional championships - Any challenge series events hosted at a regional track, drivers will earn points for both the challenge series and regional championships. Points awarded will be earned by heat race wins and B/A-main finishing position.


Example:

Joe finishes 5th in a challenge race hosted at Texoma speedway, Joe will be awarded 42 points towards challenge series and 42 points towards the regional championship.

Points will not be earned on Scheduled Challenge series race nights for other regions except for the challenge series and the hosting region.


Points Breakdown:


Heat races:

1st place - 2 points

2nd place - 1 point


Feature race (5 or more):

1st place - 50 points

2nd place - 48 points

3rd - 46

4th - 44

5th - 42

6th - 40

7th - 38

8th - 36

9th - 34

10th - 32

11th - 30

12th - 28

13th last - 22

Non qualifiers - 20

No up/DNS - 15


Feature race (3 to 4):

1st place - 40 points

2nd place - 38 points

3rd place - 36 points

4th place - 34 points


*Show up/DNS points will be awarded to drivers who did not take a green flag in the nights main events weather it’s a B or an A main event.


Divisions:

Challenge Series: Premiere Traveling series consisting of 8-12 races at different tracks throughout the race season -increased payouts and prizes for these events - Top 5 points championship awards.


North Region:

Texoma Speedway & Great Plains Stampede Kart Track - Any caged predator Races held at these tracks will be eligible to earn points as long as: - 3 karts or more are registered and take at least one green flag for the night - LSCP rules are utilized - if both tracks run on same night, points will be earned at either event -Points will not be earned on Scheduled Challenge series race nights for other regions except for the challenge series and the hosting region -Top 3 points championship awards -The regional tracks are responsible for enforcing the LSCP rules, as well as the tracks officials/Tech officials and have final say regarding rules, dq’s or any other issues.


Central Region: 

Kam Kartway - Any caged predator Races held at this track will be eligible to earn points as long as: - 3 karts or more are registered and take at least one green flag for the night --Points will not be earned on Scheduled Challenge series race nights for other regions except for the challenge series and the hosting region --Top 3 points championship awards -The regional tracks are responsible for enforcing the LSCP rules, as well as the tracks officials/Tech officials and have final say regarding rules, dq’s or any other issues.


Race Formats:

Race formats will be run at the discretion of the hosting tracks.
